Tom Mercer began throwing pottery in 2009 and immediately found himself in love with the process. Several years past until his wife Linette Mercer decided to join him in the studio, and together, their passion for pottery (as well as history) continued to grow.

They established their own pottery business in 2012, and immediately gravitated toward Obvara and Raku pottery techniques. Struck by the uniqueness and spirituality of the styles, they have attempted to stay true to the original art form as possible. Each piece is individually thrown on the wheel, and fired twice in a Raku kiln. The work is truly unique and distinctive. They are among the few artists that specialize in Obvara pottery.
