Kambaba Jasper Sterling Hammered Ring Necklace.
Kambaba Jasper, commonly known as Kambaba Stone or Green Stromatolite Jasper, is a 3 billion-year-old stone. Many seasoned crystal collectors may mistake this stone for Malachite or Nebula Stone due to the green and black swirling color pattern. The Kambaba Jasper is actually a fossil, not a Jasper. This material is known as a stromatolite, which comes from a cluster of fossilized algae that formed it. Cyanobacteria is one of the unique fossils found in Kambaba Jasper, and it is thought to have played a role in the formation of the first oxygen atmosphere on Earth many moons ago. Quartz, Feldspar, Cristobalite, and Albite are common minerals found in this unique combination of stones.
This stone's specific discovery date and location are unknown, however it may be found in South Africa, Madagascar, and the little sea that separates the two countries. The origin of the stone's name is also a point of contention, with one hypothesis claiming that it was called after Cheitharol Kambaba. Cheitharol Kambaba has been around for thousands of years and is the court chronicle of the monarchs of Manipur, India.
